Ours is a book club on the old model: a long-term, ongoing group of women that reads and discusses a variety of books and enjoys great friendships. We're now just over a year old, and while people have come and gone, a core group is in the process of forming. Our meetings are fun, boisterous affairs where lots of interesting and often diverging views are aired. The books we read span a wide spectrum: fiction, biography, non-fiction, classics, etc. We don't read self-help or how-to books, and w …
Hi we are a little different that your average book club. Yes we read the some of the "typical book club books". But we also have read non-fiction, classics, horror, self-help and wonderful books by authors you haven't heard of. In addition to book choices from the organizers, member can submit choices and lead the discussion. We even have a few men that occasionally attend. More are always welcome. :-) We aren't traditionalist in how you read the books either, hard back, soft cover, kindle, no …
Are you a music fan? Are you intrigued by your music idols, curious about how they got to where they are, and what inspires and makes them tick? Are you a former groupie, feeling nostalgic? If so, meet up at our next Rock and Roll Book Gig, where we'll read the memoirs of our favorite musicians and rap about them at a local tavern. Hell, if they're on tour, maybe we'll catch their next show! Become a fan, suggest some artists, and let’s get rockin’.

This is a new group for women that are interested in reading new releases and classic literature. We will begin by meeting at Barnes & Noble Cafe' at Geneva Commons. I chose a book for our first meeting at it is: "an Invisible Thread" by Laura Schroff and Alex Tresniowski. Please bring suggestions for next books to the first gathering. Discussion questions are at the end of the book.
Many hobbies of our youth have had a resurgence: classic tv is on Youtube and Netflix, classic sports like kickball have their own leagues, and classic games even have a couple of their own bars. But it seems like classic young adult fiction--which was a huge part of our youths--has been slightly forgotten. This club will meet monthly over drinks to discuss a classic YA book from the '70s, '80s, or '90s. Think along the lines of E.L. Konigsburg, Louis Sachar, Beverley Cleary, Lois Lowry, and …
